On the 20th October, eleven Year 9 students were invited for a tour of the Emirates stadium in North London. They were accompanied by two Year 11 leaders and two staff. All these students had successfully taken part in the double club project which is a programme run by Arsenal FC in partnership with the Languages department at CCC which aims to promote Languages through football. In the spring and summer terms last year students were studying a language one lunchtime a week and developed their football skills with a specific programme tailored by Arsenal FC the alternate week. They were then invited to attend a tour of the Stadium.
During the tour students were able to visit many areas of the stadium, like the directors’ box, the changing rooms, the press area, the dug-out as well as the club’s museum. It was a very interesting experience and all thoroughly enjoyed it. In addition they all had to complete a quiz in French or Spanish during the tour and the winners of the Quiz were given a prize.
