Subject Knowledge Enhancement
- Is your degree not specific enough to the subject you would want to teach?
- Might there be gaps when you compare your knowledge to the Curriculum requirements of the subject to be taught?
- Has it been some time since you finished your degree? Do you need a refresher?
- Do you have a good grade at A level and experience in the subject you want to teach but your degree is in a different subject?
If you intend to teach Maths, physics, computing, chemistry, languages or design and technology you may be eligible for a SKE course. There are many different types of studying interfaces. e.g. online, face to face.
You may need a short booster of 8 hours up to a maximum course length of 36 hours.
You can complete your SKE before starting your teacher training, during your training or have a mix of pre training and during training.
If you are offered a place on one of our programmes and we feel you need to develop your subject knowledge we will make this a condition of your place and we will help you organise your SKE course.
