    This year the A level art trip was to the historic and culturally significant city of Madrid. We stayed at the Hostel Agular, close to the Via del Arte, the area packed with art galleries, interesting streets and bustling squares.

  • Year 9 Visit Emirates Stadium (10/16)

    On the 20th October, eleven Year 9 students were invited for a tour of the Emirates stadium in North London. They were accompanied by two Year 11 leaders and two staff. All these students had successfully taken part in the double club project which is a programme run by Arsenal FC in partnership with the Languages department at CCC which aims to promote Languages through football.

    Sixty Year nine history students took a coach to the Imperial War Museum in London. The whole day was linked to their study of the 20th century and in particular the recent topic of the Cold War.

  • Rotary arrives to help STEM the gap!!! (10/16)

    On the last Wednesday of the half term Chalfont’s hosted the first South Buckinghamshire Rotary Design Challenge. Students from Chalfonts and The Beaconsfield School worked in teams of four to ‘design and build’ a bridge to a set specification. The students were grouped in their respective age groups aligned to their key stage.

  • Year 11 Employability Day (10/16)

    On Wednesday 12th October Yr11 students were off timetable all day to experience an Employability Skills Day.  Students spent time in the main hall talking to individuals representing a variety of professions ranging from catering & hospitality, retail, engineering, the armed forces, the fire brigade, travel, banking, filmmaking, the music industry and more.

    On the final week of the summer term, Mr Pinho and I accompanied a brave bunch of Year 12s and 13s to the Tatras Mountains in Poland and Slovakia to complete the qualifying expedition for the Duke of Edinburgh Gold award.

  • Cultural visit to China (08/16)

    In July a group of Year 10 and 11 students attended the Beijing Foreign Studies University in China representing the United Kingdom.  Students from many other European countries participated in the 10 day cultural visit. Our students showed great maturity and enthusiasm. They benefitted greatly from the exciting programme and learned a lot about Chinese culture while also undertaking lessons in Mandarin.
