CCC Students Hit the Water
On June 13th 2018 we took 12 students to a new charity accessible water sports day which was hosted by The Rivertime Trust at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre.
The focus of the day was for students with a variety of physical or learning disabilities to be given the opportunity to kayak, canoe, bell boat and have a tour along the Thames near Marlow in a wheelie boat.
Thankfully the sun was shining and the students had a fantastic time. As I paddle boarded alongside our students, one decided to hijack my paddle board and I ended up getting rather wet in an open kayak. A huge well done to Charlotte Reeves who mastered balancing on the paddle board after her successful on the water transition from kayak to paddle board. The highlight of the day was watching Hafzaa (our wheelchair user) paddle confidently with Mrs Beck in a tandem kayak.
A huge thank you to Mrs Jones, Mrs Beck and Mrs Alty without whom the trip would not have happened.
